Apologies if this has been covered but I haven't been able to find anything
on it, anywhere.

I have had masquerading set up and working for several kernels now (I'm
currently still on 2.0.36), and it all works well except for POP, which for
some reason goes very very slowly - around say a line a second.

It also does this when I telnet to the pop host/port, so I know it's not
the client app; if I telnet to my masqing linux box and then telnet to the
pop host/port then it goes at normal speed, so I know it's not the modem
link or remote host; and all other services/dest ports go at normal speed
(inc. telnet to port 23 and http).

I tried running things like iptraf to see if there was anything unusual
happening - packets being dropped or anything like that, and there was
nothing unusual (I've tried this vs. several hosts, most of whom were only
a few routing hops away).

Any ideas or similar experiences?

Thanks, Will.
