You wouldn't happen to know what needs to be updated under
slacker 3.6 would you? I'm about to do update one of my machines,
so it would be nice to know what progs are gonna give me hell about it.

Anyway.. when you upgrade to a 2.2.x kernels, a lot of sub utils
MUST be updated. You have to upgrade your various utils.
For example, with Redhat these are the utils that have to be upgraded for
an already MODERN distribution:

initscripts-3.78-2.3.i386.rpm
initscripts-3.78-2.4.i386.rpm
ipchains-1.3.8-0.i386.rpm

util-linux-2.9-0.i386.rpm
