Hello:
I have scoured the IPMasq HOWTO but don't have an answer for this
yet. I am in the middle of one of those finger-pointing disputes
where everyone blames another piece of software for some failure, and
it seems to be my unlucky task to sort it out.
Does anyone here know any reason why Altavista tunnelling software
should not work from a Win95 machine (positioned behind a Linux box
running either socks5 or IP-masq). The firewall through which I must
tunnel is somewhere else. Here's the situation:
:----------: :----------: :--------: :-----------:
| My | LAN | | Inet |Firewall| | Target |
| Win95 |<--->| Linux |<------>|(tunnel |<-->| Machine |
| Box | | Gateway | | goes | | of my |
| | | | | through) | dreams |
:----------: :----------: :--------: :-----------:
The administrators of the firewall and the site on the right don't
know anything about Linux, and automatically assume that this is the
source of the problem.
Does anyone here have some relevant experience to help me with?
Many thanks in advance.
