Fair warning, this probably qualifies as a newbie question.

Okay, I'll start with my direct problem. I can connect to FTP sites, but
can't do an 'ls' which makes things kinda difficult.
My configuration:
I'm running a private lan inside the house (192.168.0.x) connected to a
linux box running RedHat linux 5.2 (kernel 2.0.36, recompiled with the
ne2000 NIC driver in the kernel, two of them in the box and I saw a note
that with two of the same card, you should recompile the kernel with that
module in the kernel) with IP Masquerading running mostly fine. The linux
box is connected to a cable modem, and I can web surf, do net news, check
email, etc.
Just tried ftp'ing to a site, and got logged in with no problem. However,
when I try to do an 'ls' I get:
200 PORT command successful.
(long pause, TCP timeout I assume)
425 Can't build data connection: No route to host.
Looked into things on the linux box, my rc.firewall file looks like it is
doing the right things.
Being the paranoid sort, I tried running each command in it from the
command line.
Ah ha...
'/sbin/depmod -a' returns with:
conf:6: missing module argument
can't open
the following '/sbin/modprobe ip_masq_ftp' returns with 'conf:6: missing
module argument' also.
Okay, now I understand why the FTP doesn't work...
What do I need to do to fix this?
