Hello All,

I am sorry if this question has been asked, but I am new to the list and
am having lots of problems using IP masq on a linux 2.2.10 box.

The problem is that the machine will randomly fail to make a complete
session. My network is connected to the internet via cable modem, and
it also connects to some other machines via dedicated 56k line. So for
internet connectivity I put a linux machine with 2 nics between the
internet and my network as the Internet gateway using masq, and added
the routes to the routing table to send packets though the 56k line in
the event that a client needs to talk to the other machines. About one
out of every 5 times I try and send a packet to the internet or the
co-located machines I get a TCP error stating the the connection was
reset by the peer. Other than that everything works fine.

If I change my default gateway on my client machine to go to the 56k
line router everything works fine all the time, but I don't get internet
though the cable modem. It should be noted that all of the machines on
the network have real internet IP addresses because internet is
available though the 56k line, however it is much slower.

So basically I want to make my linux machine route internet bound
packets though masq and a cable modem, and co-lo bound packets to the
local 56k line router.

Thanks for any help you can send.

schu
