G'day,
I have a fairly standard IP masq setup. I am redirecting stuff to ports
80,119 and 3389 successfully.
I wish to be able to redirect to port 1280 in order to use some
particular software behind the masq machine. It uses UDP I am told.
However it does not appear to work as we get a message to the effect
"cannot make connection"
If I telnet to the masq machine using port 80 for example, I get the
usual response from the web server sitting behind the masq machine.
If I telnet to the masq machine using port 1280 I get "Connection closed
by foreign host" and the redirecting software gets killed on the masq
machine.
So basically, how can I tell who is the culprit, the masq machine or the
software I want to talk to? I have tcpdump installed but so far that has
not helped.
System is Linux 2.0.35.
BTW does any one know how to compile ipportfw.c on Slakware 3.6? I get
errors all over the place.
Thanks, Dave.
