I have been struggling with setting up Redhat 6.0 to
use IP Masq for my home LAN. I have tried several
scripts from various sources, and they are all a bit
different which makes it confusing for a new Linux
user. I was finally able to establish a connection
from inside my LAN to the internet, but at a reduced
level of performance. The Masq box utilizes my cable
modem to its fullest, but the internal computers come
to a crawl. After pinging between my Masq box and
internal computers I notice very high packet loss and
collision rates. This was similar when I tried to
ping external sites (www.yahoo.com & IP#). I had a
difficult time getting the DNS to work, but eventually
it did work. I would appreciate it if anyone could
please give me some hints to what I may have missed.
Any basic scripts would also be helpful with some
instructions.
Thanks in advance and for being patient with the
newbie.

Eric
