Hi all
Here's a question that's stumped me. I'm trying use some software behind a
masq box that requires connections to the server to originate from a
specific port. IE, to connect I must send data from the local port udp4901
to udp4901 on the server. This is completely against the normal function of
masq-ing; source ports get semi-randomly reassigned.
I have installed ipportfw to allow the server to connect back to me, but
this only solves part of the problem. Can ipportfw be used the other way,
to make the firewall act as a sort of proxy? A source port must be
specifiable, of course.
I've also been looking at udpred (udp redirector?), but I am unable to
determine what this software uses as a source port. And even if a source
port could be specified, I assume that it would cause the same problem
ipautofw causes, timeouts when certain ports are forwarded.
Can anybody help me, here? I'm pretty much stuck. Thanks in advance.
