Boston struck box 6177 in East Boston. Chelsea Engine (1) came up on
BFD Ch 1 (483.1625R) and advised the BFD dispatcher ("Fire Alarm" or
"Boston Fire Alarm") that they were responding to Boston FD Engine 5
station to cover. E39 also apparently moved from South Boston to East
Boston via the Ted Williams Tunnel. This is nothing particularly new - I just figured I should document it. I suspect that any transmitted box in East Boston gets one Chelsea Engine to cover, plus 1 Boston Engine and 1 Boston Ladder to cover. Apparently the Massport FD no longer responds to boxes in East Boston (except for perhaps a couple of line coxes). I dont think that Revere FD nor Winthrop FD respond on any automatic cover assignments either. Revere FD does co-respond to Suffolk Downs horse race track with BFD as the site straddles the Boston / Revere municipal border. I think that Boston FD and Revere FD will both strike their own full boxes for Suffolk Downs. Revere FD used to have fire guards on duty at Suffolk Downs almost 24/7. Not sure if they still do that or not. On the other end of Boston - at the Stop and Shop (food store) Warehouse on the Dedham / Boston border - apparently the building has 2 master boxes connected to the internal fire alarm system. One master box is on the Dedham telegraph system - the other master box is on the Boston telegraph system. Activation of the master boxes brings 2 E + 1L from Dedham - plus ?1E and ?1L from Boston. Each community will notify the other community via 483.2875R (MetroFire) when they receive their master box. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
