The Town of Sharon Fire Department and the Holbrook Fire Department are combining their dispatch centers. As of May 15, 2010 Holbrook Fire will take over 100% of the dispatch responsibilities. This will allow all of the Sharon firefighters to respond to emergency if needed. There will be times, short periods, that the Sharon Fire Station will be vacant and no one will be in the building. For fire and ambulance emergencies, residents will continue to call 911 or 781-784-2121 and dispatchers will send the appropriate response the same as if the Sharon Fire Department was doing the dispatching. The general business number 781-784-1522 will remain the same but will be answered by an automated answering system. Calls tor permits and to schedule smoke detector inspections will be returned as soon as possible. Residents, who come to the station for permits and to drop off used needles, will have to ring the doorbell for service and firefighters will take care of your requests. If all the firefighters are on emergency calls then you will have to return later. This may be inconvenient to some but it will enhance the emergency services the department provides.
