The NPR daily financial show (?Money Basket) just ended with this
tidbit - " the two largest holders of US government debt are Social
Security and The Federal Reserve "

If I understand this right - >>>> When we reach retirement, we will
have to keep paying taxes to pay down the government debt so we can
receive our Social Security benefits

Maybe a better way to say this is ->>>> The money that we are setting
aside today for our retirement tomorrow is being stolen to pay for
boondoggles today that we will have to pay for tomorrow

I dont like the sound of that.

------------------------------------

Who is the Federal Reserve? Where do they get money from? Good
question. Why are they buying US Govt debt? AKA - Why are they lending
money to the US Govt? Are we lending money to ourselves?

I dont like the sound of that.
