If you cant get to sleep - take a hot shower. This will trick your
body into going to sleep. Or something like that.

by a sleep researcher - lots of interesting stuff - sleep is very
complicated - there are many stages - sleeping aids can mess up the
stages - it might be better to mess up the REM sleep of depression
victims so their negative thoughts are not reinforced

I didnt hear any mention of "shift work" but it might be in the book
