Many PDs now have bodycams - Springfield MA PD doesnt even have cameras in the cars yet (My town doesnt have car cameras either AFAIK) Lots of good info here about the history of camera use by police departments - and how the cameras often exonerate the police openness - live scanner audio - keywords - accountability - discipline - public trust - governmental accountability - color of laws violations - policing the police - public order - fairness - honesty - truthiness - the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me gawd will you look at that woman :-) ------------------------------------- If a 1,000 people hear a chase on a scanner feed, then I guess the perp could never say that there wasnt a chase (especially if lots of sirens and squeling tires are heard in the tape) - (and if the perp claims that the cops were shooting at him, but the radio tape never has any sounds of gunshots, and no mention of gunshots, then that would help to exonerate the police also - especially in the court of public opinion) - and if the chase covers a mile in under a minute, then the perp cant claim that he was going 15 MPH Yes - every police department should lust after scanner feeds - aint that the whole truth -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
