General background info - life in the USA Howie Carr said today that illegal aliens cost Massachusetts $1.8 billion per year. That is approx 1,000 per tax paying family. 52% of the cost of illegal aliens is for education. I have been told that any student signing up for public education in Massachusetts needs to show a green card or proof of citizenship. (Apparently a illegal alien will come to the USA to have a child - then the child is considered a US citizen and is entitled to free education - I need to confirm this) Something tells me that most illegal aliens come here to work - not to lay around and collect welfare. If they were laying around all day, they would be seen hanging out on street corners and in back alleys - and crime rates would be very high probably. The illegal aliens take low paying manual labor type jobs. This is probably very old news to most of you. But that $1.8 Billion number caught my eye today.
