The National Weather Service in Taunton has expanded the * Flash Flood Watch to include Rhode Island except Block Island... and Massachusetts except the Berkshires and east slopes...as well as Cape Cod and the islands. * Through Tuesday evening * showers with heavy rainfall are expected through late Tuesday with rainfall totals of 1.50 to 2.50 inches. * Rapid and significant flooding of urban areas is possible. Small streams may rise out of their banks and flood low lying areas. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch is issued for the potential of rapid and significant flooding. Stay alert for flash flood warnings...which are issued when flooding is imminent. Should flooding occur...do not drive through flooded roads...even if the water appears to be shallow. Find an alternate Route. Cars can easily become stranded.
