I was going to college in Chicago in 1976 - we had a bullet come thru a dorm window - it was dark - maybe 7 PM - there was a Indian guy in the room - what was his name? - EE IIRC - I said "maybe we should kill the lights and call the cops" - everyone bought into that immediately - I was probably the one that called 911- we had Chicago cops and campus cops there - nothing came of it - there was just a small round hole thru the window IIRC - it was 3 floors up - facing the NE - out towards Wabash St and State St - shot would have had to come from the street corner or from the adjacent dorm or the courtyard
