If you are plotting fire stations in Bedford County Virginia, and you have already plotted 10 stations in the last 10 minutes - if you start trying to find Blue Island VFD, Google Maps will have no idea what you are talking about. In fact, it might lead you to some sugar shack in Ohio. But if you enter Big Island VFD (the correct name), then Google Maps will show you lots of love.
2nd factoid about Google Maps Google Maps abhors typographical errors. If you try to find Bawston Massachuseets - good luck. LOL Even Bosto MA doesnt work - I take that back - it does work. Bostan MA works also. But Sanders FD will not bring up Saunders VFD. I bet that Baston MA dont work. I was right. "Baston" gives you a road in Georgia. Their matching algorithm seems to go letter by letter. If I enter "B" - it starts to look at every entry that starts with a B. If I enter "BA" it starts to look at every entry that starts with BA. Maybe we have some computer expert that knows what kind of sorting algorithm this is. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
