Do any FDs send their Fire Protection Engineers to fire scenes to serve as structural integrity advisers?
I think that Boston FD has 1 FPE now. And Phoenix FD had had several for many years IIRC. A FPE is a civil engineer with special training in fires. Usually someone with high IQ that can slog thru 4 years of engineering school. Heck - maybe every FD should be required to retain the services of a structural engineer. Just dreaming out loud. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
