wells maine has seperate ems and fire departments lets try to figure out how they really operate fd hired 4 medics ish - fd has approx 19 ft staff and 10 vols fd went to 707 ems calls and had 25 fire calls ems staffs 2 ft als ambs using per diem staffing ems had approx 750 als calls plus 350 bls calls plus 50 transfers plus 800 non transports ems went to 47 fire alarm activations fd responds with out of town ambulances when wells ems is busy ========================= if ems runs 2 ft als ambs - then basically they are staffed at 16 to 20 fulltime people if fd and ems were combined then they would have 40 ft people from town website fd page - The department serves a community than spans approximately 60 square miles and consists of approximately 10,600 year round residents and a population over 20,300 during the summer months. ========================= ok - so it looks like their staffing should be 15 yearround fulltime plus 25 summer staff - but they are like Cape Cod - they dont have any 'summer staffing' - the cops do but the FDs dont - weird ======================= ok - here is the real info - https://www.firenews.org/me/w/wells/wellsme.html - wells fd has 6 huge new fire trucks and 1 old tired little rescue buggy - no ambulances very much looks like hatfield vs mccoys type situation whatever -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
