added several new fire maps for the united kingdom today - manchester
and adjacent FDs

we noticed that the stations are approx 2 ground miles apart in
downtown Manchester

do not seem to be very many photos added to the google maps website

maps added - manchester + Merseyside + Cheshire + Lancashire + West
Yorkshire + Derby + South Yorkshire

shire means 'county' apparently

so manchester is a city or county surrounded by 6 other FDs - and they
basically cover 1 county each

there is also 2 fire stations at the big airport - they might be
operated by the airport authority

perhaps there is 20 to 30 fire stations for each FD - both paid and
paid on call and combination

none of the FDs seem to operate any ambulances

each FD seems to have their own control room / dispatch center
