Hi guys,
I'm glad to see this fork of Gnome 2: I'm just not sure about Gnome 3 and
Unity. I'm also glad you chose to name the project after one of my favorite
beverage/herbs--and one that so widely represents my country (Argentina) and
its neighbours.
I just wanted to note that the correct name for the herb is "yerba mate" (or
"erva mate" in Brazil), i.e., it's written mate (no acute accent) and
pronounced 'mah-teh. Maté (mah-'teh), on the other hand, means "[I] killed".
I wonder how the name ended up transformed as it made its way into English.
More curious is the fact they added a diacritic they don't use themselves.
Maybe they took it from French?
Anyway, thanks for the good work. Keep it up!
Best,
Lisandro
