Changes http://wiki.axiom-developer.org/DoyenCD/diff -- I am currently in Merida, Mexico at a Physics/Mathematics conference where I gave one talk on physics (some mathematical physics calculations in Maple) and another on talk on Axiom´s potential for implementing some concepts from category theory. Axiom was a BIG hit! Everyone at the presentation (about 20 people, maybe 1/2 university students) expressed great interested in Axiom. And when I said I had 5 copies of a CD to give away containing Axiom, the Doyen Wiki interface, and a bootable linux, the CDs disappeared ¨like hot cakes¨. In fact the computer science department immediately made 10 more copies of the CD for me to distribute and these where all distributed after my next talk.
BTW, my intended live demo of the physics calculations in Maple failed during my 2nd talk because of a problem in the Maple license manager. I had removed the wireless lan card from my laptop because I didn´t need it during the demo. I did know it at the time, but this entirely disabled my license for Maple! My conclusion (which I also included in my talk) was that this was just another demonstration of why one should prefer open source software. So if anyone else is planning to distribute copies of the DoyenCD at a conference be sure to bring lots of copies! This CD is a great tool with which to promote Axiom. Great work guys! -- forwarded from http://wiki.axiom-developer.org/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
