For Slackware users we have added a port of mathopd to our slackmatic
repository:

  http://www.slackmatic.org/site.org?repoview=guinix

So far our tests indicate mathopd builds and runs fine on i486
platforms installed with dietlibc. (However, no tests have yet been
run with this package on SMP-enabled machines.)

To disable build with dietlibc, define NODIET in the build environment:

  # NODIET=1 slackmat-build

The package includes two run systems:

  * "classic" slackware /etc/rc.d/rc.mathopd
  * daemontools service in /var/svc.d/mathopd

Two example configuration files are provided, mathopd.conf.slack and
mathopd.conf.super corresponding to each of the above run systems.
Either of these will serve only as a starting point of course.

Benefits of the slackmatic package build system:

  * BOIM: build once, install many
  * automatic download, checksum, configure, compile
  * optional integrated static linkage with dietlibc
  * full conformance with slackware package policy

Thank you for feedback/comments!
