Hi everyone! I'm trying to build matplotlib 1.1.0 using Python-2.7.3 on CentOS 6.4. I constantly keep getting the following error:
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libpython2.7.a(parsetok.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata.str1.1' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /usr/local/lib/libpython2.7.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status error: command 'g++' failed with exit status 1 Can anyone please advice on what is going on and how I can resolve the issue? Thanks a lot.
