Quite sensible, thanks! DW also suggests "You can use the 'hold' command to plot multiple vectors on the same plot, each with its own marker." Neither of those is ideal - it would be much nicer to be able to pass either a {marker list, text list} as an argument to the plot command directly - but at least the workaround is reasonable.
