You are using the TK backend.
Add this at the top of your script:
import matplotlib
matplotlib.use('QT4Agg')
from matplotlib.backends.backend_qt4agg import FigureCanvasQTAgg as
FigureCanvas
from matplotlib.backends.backend_qt4agg import NavigationToolbar2QTAgg as
NavigationToolbar
Should work.
(Or at least will no more show errors related to TK backend...)
