It looks like it isn't finding the Computer Modern Bakoma fonts. They don't seem to be included in the Fedora Package (see here: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=230966) and the package does not depend on those fonts. Some of them are packaged in the lyx-fonts package, so installing that may help. But basically this is a packaging bug -- the package should either include the fonts or depend on the fonts. It might be a good idea to file a bug against the python-matplotlib package in the Fedora bug tracker.
