Hello,

I'm running the following configuration
Python 2.7.6 (default, Feb  5 2015, 00:21:43)
IPython 3.0.0-b1
matplotlib '1.4.2'
The version of the notebook server is 3.0.0-b1-ee6223a.
This is running on linux 3.16.0-0.bpo.4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian
3.16.7-ckt2-1~bpo70+1 (2014-12-08) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I set up matplotlib as follows:
import matplotlib as mpl
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
%matplotlib nbagg

Then running this command:
>> plt.plot(range(100))
only displays a box (with resize, zoom, pan, etc controls) - but does not
show the figure itself (see figure).
<http://matplotlib.1069221.n5.nabble.com/file/n44812/Untitled.png>
Also, when I click on any part of the figure, I get a slew of the following
message on stderr:
[IPKernelApp] ERROR | No such comm: 29281512bed24f259572bc6f0ea8d249

On the other hand,
>> plt.plot(range(100))
>> plt.show()
shows nothing at all.

However, this
>>%matplotlib inline
>>plt.plot(range(100))
displays the figure as expected.

What is going on ? How can I enable the new notebook backend for matplotlib
?

Thanks.
