Hello everyone,

I am trying to model a real power system that is quite complex. While I haven't
been able to find data for every single load/generator/branch/etc. for the full
system, I have begun by analyzing a simplified representation of the system
where I have aggregated buses by their "zone" (the area of interest is
subdivided into zones, and data is more readily available by zone than by
individual bus). The idea is to represent each zone by a single "equivalent"
bus.

My question is as follows: should I be declaring these aggregated buses as PV
or PQ buses? In reality each zone has both generators and loads, so I'm unsure
if a PQ bus or PV bus is more appropriate.

If any of you could provide some insight into this problem it would be greatly
appreciated.

Regards,

Danisz Stalinski
