I don't think DC grids can be accommodated in MATPOWER (only DC links can, as far as I know). But I'll try to answer your question because we encountered this problem as well, a few years back. The context was steady-state power-flows in pure-DC microgrids. What we found at the time was that there seems to be no standardized modeling for the steady state of DC/DC converters in the high-power, high-voltage domain. But it's not difficult to come up with one; we did so using this reference:
R. W. Erickson and D. Maksimovic, Fundamentals of Power Electronics (Second Ed.), Kluwer Academic, 2004. (see Chapters 2 & 3) For our purposes, we did not need any more detailed modeling than that.
