I believe the error you're experiencing is caused by a conflict between
Snow Leopard and the compiler we formerly used to build Mauve for OS X.
If so, the problem (and others) has been resolved in our snapshot
releases:
http://gel.ahabs.wisc.edu/mauve/snapshots/

The current mac snapshot is available from:
http://gel.ahabs.wisc.edu/mauve/snapshots/2009/2009-10-21/MacOS/Mauve-snapshot_2009-10-21.dmg

Please let us know if that doesn't resolve the issue, others have
experienced similar problems and we'd like to have it fixed for our next
formal Mauve release.

Hope that helps,
-Aaron
