Hi all

I touched off a small flood with similar monitor res problems...

And actually I spoke too soon about my problems...

I did get it to boot into KDE when it wouldn't at first...

by checking out the install booklet which mentioned this utility:

Type this in on the command line.

/usr/lib/yi/dexter.py

Which allowed me to reset some monitor settings...

I selected my monitor and left it at that, but later the monitor was
banding and doing weird things.. so i reran the utilty and customised
the resolution and refresh rates

seemed to work for a bit but then it started not to look good anymore

I'm using the internal video on my 4400 ppc which can onyl handle
thousands of colours

I'm going to try a 3dfx voodoo3 2000 and see it that a) works at all b)
improves things

:)

matx

ps. ya, I do like MacOSX and after 2 years of playing with it, I know it
better than Linux, but Linux is different and fun... i need to learn
more about it...
