Hi all

I am now completely finished with the installation of Mandrake 8.2(!) on my PM
7600. This is what I did:

Copy BootX extension, application and linux kernels to system map of my first
partition (147 Mb, HFS). Go to Control panels, BootX App: Choose vmlinux as
kernel, ramdisk is the all.gz file (This will give you 2.4.18 kernel). Ramdisk
size is 32000. Add 'text' to more kernel arguments (graphical installations
did not work for me). Boot into linux and off you go into the installation. Do
not choose graphical login at the end.

After installation, set BootX App up. Choose the vmlinuz-2.4bblabla on the CD
as kernel, the ramdisk is now the initrd file, on the CD in the same Boot map.
8192 ramdisk size is ok. Add the following to 'more kernel arguments':
root=/dev/xxx devfs=mount (xxx is hdax or hdbx or sdax or sdbx). Boot into
linux.

>From runlevel 3 you can easlily start KDE for instance (startx).
Succes readers out there that may need may little manual.
