Hi, I instaled Mandrake 8.2 on my PM 7600. I have now some internet/LAN setup problems:
I tried to setup internet sharing, but it completely messed up my system. My internet connection runs via eth1 and my local network via eth0 (in principle, it doesn' work yet). The problem is that I don't have internet no more. I did some things with the wizard and now I don't know anymore what I can do... The problem when I want to turn on the eth1 connection by ifup eth1, it gives me an error: eth1 has different MAC address than expected, ignoring The thing is that I checked /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 and the MAC address here is fine. Before this error message it said: fgrep: /etc/sysconfig/networking/default/ifcfg-*: No such file or directory Device eth1 has different MAC address than expected, ignoring. So then I copied both eth0 and eth1 cfg files to this place to get rid of the error. I don't know how to set this all up...I want internet via eth1 and LAN via eth0.... ------------------------------------------ Best regards, Jeroen Diederen http://diederen.demon.nl -- MaX-list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> MaX-list info: <http://lowendmac.com/linux/max.shtml> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/max-list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
