Are you using BootX to boot?  I believe that if you set the control
panel in MacOS before booting, it should work.  The "file"
/proc/cpuinfo will give a "bogomips" rating, which tells something
about the speed of the processor.  Tweaking the CP and then looking at
the bogomips rating should work.  Cache, that I don't know.  It should
have a line in /proc/cpuinfo .
