Is it boot problems rather than install problems you experience? Or is it trouble finding the cd or hard drive driver in the installation?
You need to setup Bootx for a oldworld machine and give the correct options to the kernel to get it to boot after the install. The bootx docs should help you there. Sorry I've forgotten them but will dig them up if no one else helps out.
