I have YellowDogLinux 3.0.1 on a 7200/120, running apache. When I first started apache, a web browser directed to the 7200 would display apache's test page. Although the config file at /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf has a line

DocumentRoot "/var/www/html"
indicating that web pages are served from directory /var/www/html, there are no html pages in this directory. I've not been able to find where the test page is located, so that I can move it out of there.

I changed the documentRoot line to point to a different directory /var/www/html/mywebsite, where I put my default.html and other web pages. Now, when I browse the 7200, I get my correct default page if I have default.html at the end of the URL. Without it, I still get the test page.

My question: how can I get rid of the test page, and have the default.html page served without requesting it specifically?

I would also like to have apache start up automatically after a reboot. Where would I find the startup script file to which I can add a line such as /usr/sbin/apachectl start ?

Thank you for your help.

Henry
