No problems with the partitioning.. u should be able to format the
linux partition only during the linux install. i have a powerbook G4
1.25GHz... i have been able to shift between YDL and ubuntu... though
right now i am sticking to ubuntu.

at present i am using bootstrap partition at 1MB and a /user partition
with 10GB and a / partition with 10GB.. all of them except the
bootstrap are well in excess...
I guess charles suggestions about the partitions are much better

I have been able to use the OSX partitions using linux but vice-versa
has been a major diaster.. there is a program called hfs as well as
hfsplus in ubuntu... YDL also should have a similar program using
which we can mount and write to hfs partitions using linux without too
many problems...

i hope that has been of some help.. like u am also a linux newbie with
just 1 month linux experience!
