SapDB installation problems

We have an automated installation and configuration procedure for SapDB 
(version 7.3.0.15) that has worked many times in the past. However, when 
we tried to install it again recently on Windows 2000 and NT servers, it 
seems to hang while executing SDBINST, and never finishes successfully.

The only thing that I am aware of that has changed since this used to 
work, is the addition of some service packs and/or security patches for 
Windows 2000 and NT. Before we go too far into the debugging process, 
are there any known issues with Windows service packs or security 
patches that might interfere with the SapDB installation process?
