Hi Peter, it can be found in the documentation for dbmcli in the description of the medium_put command (http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/htmhelp/d1/b3866c4dc211d4aa1100a0c9430730/frameset.htm) and in the documentation for DBMGUI in the paragraph about Naming conventions for backup media (http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/htmhelp/86/cfcc2bc6ca11d5993e00508b6b8b11/frameset.htm), which is linked from the paragraph about creating a backup medium (http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/htmhelp/bd/1ef77a57c511d4aa83006094b92fad/frameset.htm) and from the paragraph about backup media in general (http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/htmhelp/07/af6d9ec22a11d5993d00508b6b8b11/frameset.htm).
And yes BACK was a bad choice and when I find the time this behavior will change in a future version of MAX DB.
