Igor,
I have setup a D/R system using archive logs on SAPDB 7.3. The
only problem I had was with applying the logs automatically using
scripts. About half the time the apply process described in the SAPDB
documentation hangs if try to use the script. I have tried quite a few
variations of the script but could not get it succeed consistently. I
have finally resigned to applying the logs once or twice a week manually
using the 7.3 DBMGUI. If I try to use a higher version of DBMGUI it
fails.

Hope that helps.

Hello Igor,

what are you looking for in your disaster recovery?

When restoring a standby database with data from the original database,
you can also use log backups instead of incremental backups, to keep the
standby database as up to date as possible.

Hello, we have an instance of SAP DB on Windows 2000 that is about 10 GB
in size and growing.

Has anybody have a Disaster Recovery set up?

Are there any solutions available other then copying full 10 GB backup
to DR site, restoring it, and applying incremental backups ?

Thank you.
