Hi, I setup a test environment to see if it is possible to update my sdb 7.3 to 7.5.
I used a Win 200 server and a full backup to set up an indentical sdb. I followed the instructions in the online docs at www.mysql.com/maxdb to the point. However it not work out with neither SDBINST nor SDBUPD. SDBINST always fails at step 10 where i am supposed to call dbmcli �R <dependent_path><target_version> db_create �d <database_name> -u <dbm_user>,<password> with some error about -D not being a Database name. if i leave -d out then it states that the paramters are wrong. i wonder how the person who wrote the docs solved this step with command given. SDBUPD fails at some point when it complains about the systems table not containing the domain user name. However if I reinstall, recover and let the database manager recreate the system tables it does not get better. Is there someone out there who updated successfully from 7.3 to 7.5? Or do I have to do it the hard way by generating the whole content of the Database into SQL scripts? cheers Christian Witschel
