MaxDB is available under the GPL. That means as long as any derivative
software you develop with MaxDB is *also* licensed under the GPL, you have no
issue.

If you make modifications to MaxDB (or link against the MaxDB shared
libraries) and destribute them *not* under the GPL, then you need a license.

Under no circumstances does *use* of MaxDB by you require a different license,
as the licenses only cover *distribution* of MaxDB.
