All, I have an issue I would like discussed in the List forum.
I tried to install an additional livecache using the SAPDB DB manager GUI install wizard to an HPUX 11.11 UNIX host for several days last week. I followed instruction from SAP and documentation, notes , etc.. 1. All SID's on the host were shutdown 2. All processes were stopped. 3. All IPCS memory and semaphores were cleaned out But the second Livecache wouldn't install The LVC is at 7.4.2. patch level 17. The SAPDB DB Manager GUI is at 7.4.3.30. I was getting assorted error message's from SAPDB DB Manager GUI during the course of this. Anything from GUI disconnects, can't run LOAD_SYSTAB, to DOMAIN Passwd is wrong. Anyway, I finally rebooted the server and the install worked. Ran straight through without a problem. I'm happy, but I'm still curious about why? It appears to me that there must have been something in memory that kept the install from happening, but what? Thank You, Gary Shepherd Georgia-Pacific Corp.
