Hello,
if you encounter the same problem, be sure to check the following issues,
which lead to a sucessful migration over here :
1) be sure that the following file "/usr/spool/sql/ini/SAP_DBTech.ini"
exits. If it's locates somewhere else, create a symbolic link.
2) be sure that all paths in "SAP_DBTech.ini" exist and are accessible to
the updater
3) be sure that the instance to be migrated is registered in
"SAP_DBTech.ini" like
[Databases]
_OPTSAPD=/opt/sapdb/depend
DEMO=/opt/sapdb/depend
4) be sure that only one instance is registered in "SAP_DBTech.ini".
_OPTSAPD is something like systemstuff and doesn't count. :-)
5) be sure that the path "/var/opt/sapdb/indep_data/config/install" exists.
if not : create it manually
6) be sure you followed all steps in the Migration-Document correctly
(In-Place Migration with SDBUPD). (Like having forget the complete
databackup and stuff ;-))
7) be sure you've loaded the system tables
After you've finished the migration sucessfully : turn on autorecreate bay
indexes in the instance-parameters, restart the instance and go on ...
(you don't need to turn on the parameter necesseraly, but we've encoutered
bad indexes over here after the migration. the recreation of indexes on the
instance-restart took quite some time, but worked)
Greetings,
Flo
