Yes and no. Linux_32 is little endian whereas Linux_64 is big endian
(according to a test program out of a Richard Stevens book).

The restore of the DB is failing with "bad page". This happens both on using
external backup tools (Networker) and when backing up and restoring with
remote pipes.
