Hello Grisel, 1. On UNIX MaxDB database instances can use raw devices for their data and log volumes. MaxDB uses its data and log volumes in parallel.
2. NetVault can be used to backup MaxDB via NetVaults's Backint for Oracle agent or with the help of NetVault's scripting and pipe backup abilities.
