Korbinian, there is the alpha version of the proxy only and there will be no further development.

My thought was to replace our mysql install on our webserver with maxdb and do this "soft" (app is php-based) as i read that there is a mysql-proxy wich can be used to access a maxdb like it was an mysql db version - but i cant find it on the mysql homepage. Was this just a try or is it really existing because all i can find was comments about an aplha release...
