There seems to be no clear How-to procedure to setup a clustering solution
based on MaxDB and Linux. Does anyone have practical experience with this?
can you share some tips please?

I wonder if it is as easy as:

1.- Setup some open source cluster filesystem
2.- Install MAXDB on client nodes and create database instances with data
and log volumes residing on the clustered FS.

I suspect this is very naive, but it would be great if it would work this
way...I can "understand" the shared-storage concepts behind the cluster,
but still can't see how the different instances can divide the workload
between them, is there a load balancer in front of them? or maybe this is
just a fail-over cluster?

I have searched the mailing list and google too, it is really hard to find
a clear answer to this subject regarding MAXDB, except for the Microsoft
cluster case, which seems to be well documented for SAP customers.

Regards,
Martin
