Sorry, please ignore. I had assumed that "all" really meant all.
I subsequently installed the dbmgui and sqlstudio pieces and the
installation is now complete.

Thanks,
Rick

Subject: No Gui Manager or studio

Hi,
From a newbie. I just finished installing the "all-win-32bit" 7.6.00.12
version of MAXDB.
Installed on WinXP Pro SP2, all Windows updates applied. Also protected by McAfee Internet Security Suite 7 (probably not relevant).

Everything finishes successfully, and MAXDB tells me to reboot to complete the installation.
I inspect the install log.
Almost at the end, the install log contains the following two lines:
Can't open registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\DBMGui3.Application\Clsid": Bad file descriptor Can't open registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SQLStudio.SQLSTO\Clsid": Bad file descriptor

I check the "All programs", there is no program group for MAXDB, no icons created.
Should I separately install the dbmGUI and sqlstudio pieces?

I appreciate your advice.

Rick Gonzalez

p.s. I am doing this for a paper for my Enterprise Data class in Marymount University. I am not a computer science student, nor do I normally administer or install databases, so I appreciate your patient help.
